The concept of the Ponzo Illusion has been derived from the geometric shapes to create the illusion which makes it seem that the top line is longer than the lower horizontal one. In reality they’re the same length. This idea was said to be similar to the Simultaneous Contrast Illusion, in which people would assume about the object on the basis of the information taken from the background.
